On September 13th, 2017, The Institute for Political and International Studies hosted the Joint Round Table with Australian National University. The ANU delegation, headed by Gareth Evans, the former Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs and Chancellor of Australian National University was including Amin Saikal, Director of the Centre for Arab and Islamic Studies and Professor of Political Science at the Australian National University, Michael Wesley, Professor of International Affairs and Dean of the College of Asia and the Pacific, Martine Letts, Deputy Director of the Lowy Institute for International Policy Australian National University, Tom Harley Managing Director of Dragoman and Rachel Larobina Senior Centre Administrator and Postgraduate Coordinator. The discussion focused on several issues such as bilateral relation between Islamic Republic of Iran and Australia in political, cultural and economic relation scope, current situation in Middle East and the International Developments. This roundtable that aimed at exchanging views and setting up for future cooperation, was followed by bilateral talks that began in 2000 as a result of efforts by the Ambassador Rouhisefat and Dr Saikal,
