The first research round table on the environment of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Uzbekistan was held at the Institute for Political and International Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 2024-3-11.

<p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;"></p> <p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">The first research round table on the environment of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Uzbekistan was held at the Institute for Political and International Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 2024-3-11. A four-member delegation representing the Ministry of Ecology and Research Institute on the Environment of Uzbekistan was present at this meeting. The officials and senior experts of our country consisting of the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad, Department of Environment, Ministry of Energy, Natural Resources and Watershed Management Organization, Agricultural Research, Education and Extension Organization (AREEO), and affiliated research institutions as well as representatives from Provincial Government of North Khorasan were also present in this round table.</p> <p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">The participants in this meeting discussed and exchanged opinions about the effects and destructive consequences of climate in the region of West Asia and Central Asia, especially Iran and Uzbekistan, increasing adaptation and resilience against these effects, especially in the field of management and preservation of forests, pastures, watershed management, desertification, and dealing with sand and dust storms. In this meeting, the parties emphasized the need to develop environmental cooperation between the two countries and to expand interactions between the universities and research centers in Iran and Uzbekistan.</p>
