<p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">Continuing the "Book and Diplomacy" series of sessions, organized by the Institute for Political and International Studies (IPIS) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the booth of its Publishing Department, concurrently with the 36th Tehran International Book Fair, three books focusing on China were unveiled on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.</p> <p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">These works include:</p> <ul dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify; list-style-type: square;"> <li>"Essays on China's Rise to Power" by Mr. Gholamali Chegnizadeh</li> <li>"China's Foreign and Security Policy" by Mr. Ali Esmaeili Ardekani</li> <li>"Politics and Governance in China" by Mr. Abolfazl Olamaeifar</li> </ul> <p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">The unveiling ceremony was held in the presence of Mr. Mohammad Keshavarzzadeh, former Iranian Ambassador to China.</p> <p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">Dr. Habibollah Malakoutifar, Head of the Publishing Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in his opening remarks, emphasized the importance of understanding China and publishing research works in this field. Referring to the activities of the Ministry's Publishing Department in introducing China this year, he mentioned five published works and deemed their study essential for researchers and those interested in China studies.</p> <p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">Dr. Malakoutifar added: "Today, understanding China, given its growing power and the path it has taken to achieve its current position, is imperative for everyone. In this context, studying the experiences and works of authors who have practically engaged in this field is of particular importance."</p> <p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">He also described Dr. Olamaeifar's book, given his several years of scholarly experience in the field of China, as a very valuable resource for those interested in understanding this country.</p> <p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">Mr. Mohammad Keshavarzzadeh, former Iranian Ambassador to China, in his remarks, pointed to China's economic and military power and its extensive investment in the field of artificial intelligence. He also stressed the importance of close engagement to achieve an accurate understanding of China.</p> <p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">Subsequently, Dr. Gholamali Chegnizadeh, one of the authors, described the shortage of specialized researchers on Chinese affairs in Iran as a serious vulnerability and emphasized the necessity of enhancing the level of understanding of China to increase the country's diplomatic capacities.</p> <p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">Following these speeches, the three aforementioned research works were unveiled in the presence of officials.</p> <p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">It is noteworthy that the "Book and Diplomacy" series of sessions is held daily at the booth of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Publishing Department at the Tehran International Book Fair.</p> <p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">Address: Imam Khomeini Mosalla.
