Book and Diplomacy Session Featuring Mr. Majid Takht-Ravanchi at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Booth
Continuing the Book and Diplomacy series of sessions organized by the Institute for Political and International Studies (IPIS) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the 36th Tehran International Book Fair the Publishing Department booth of the Institute hosted Mr. Majid Takht-Ravanchi then-Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs on Monday May 12 2025.
<p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">Continuing the "Book and Diplomacy" series of sessions, organized by the Institute for Political and International Studies (IPIS) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the 36th Tehran International Book Fair, the Publishing Department booth of the Institute hosted Mr. Majid Takht-Ravanchi, then-Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, on Monday, May 12, 2025.</p>
<p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">In this session, moderated by Mr. Alikhani, Dr. Takht-Ravanchi responded to his questions regarding books and reading. He emphasized the importance of diplomats' profound familiarity with their own country's history as an influential factor in the diplomatic arena. Furthermore, he identified familiarity with literature and poetry, and mastery of the languages of other countries, as key factors for a diplomat's success.</p>
<p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">In another part of his remarks, Dr. Takht-Ravanchi described the lifting of sanctions and the establishment of economic order as among the most important current duties of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and stressed that the achievement of this goal is vital for the country's progress and development.</p>
<p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">At the end of the session, he answered questions from some of the journalists present at the booth and then visited the booths of Iraq (the special guest of the fair) and Yemen.</p>
<p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">It is noteworthy that the "Book and Diplomacy" series of sessions is held daily at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Publishing Department booth at the Tehran International Book Fair.</p>
