The meeting of the Human and Women's Rights Studies Group of the Institute for Political and International Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the title Anniversary of the Adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: The Nature of Global Human Rights with a focus on the Gaza crisis was held with the presence of a group of professors from Tehran universities and managers and senior experts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at this Institute on December 11, 2023.

In this meeting, on the occasion of the 75th Anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, various dimensions of violations of human rights and international humanitarian law related to the Gaza crisis were discussed. In the meeting above, the key issues and challenges of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the effectiveness of the mechanism of international organizations in defending the people of Gaza, and international criminal law and the children of Gaza were discussed and exchanged.

In the said meeting, it was stated that this year, the world community is spending International Human Rights Day in one of the darkest periods of human life in terms of violations of human rights and international humanitarian law in the shadow of the war, the widespread and obvious killing and genocide in Gaza. This requires the serious attention of human beings, leaders, governments, institutions, and international agents.

In the world anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, human rights have failed the global economy, and this requires a new discourse. Behind the gross violation of human rights in Gaza and every violation of human rights in the world, the basic concept of human inequality is hidden in them. In contrast, the extract of human rights, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and any other document taken from the Declaration of Human Rights is the belief in human equality.

More than 10,000 children were killed in the Gaza war since October 7, 2023. In other words, on average, a child is killed every 10 minutes. A population of about 2300000 people live in Gaza, with an area of 365 km2, as the most densely populated place in the world. According to UNICEF statistics, 47% of the population of Gaza are children. Unfortunately, UNICEF has not yet released official statistics on the number of children killed. In presenting a published general statistic, the number of disabled, injured, and killed children is more than 300000.
