The joint meeting of the Institute for Political and International Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with Peking University (PKU) was held with the presence of Dr. Khalil Shirgholami, Vice President of Research and senior experts of the Institute for Political and International Studies, and Professor Guo Li, the head of the Faculty of Law, and several professors and students of this university on August 21, 2023.

In this meeting, topics such as the latest developments in West Asia and the prospects of regional cooperation, Indo-Pacific competition, and America's efforts to control China and the main global and international dynamics, including the Ukraine crisis, climate change, and their effect on the world order were discussed and investigated.

In this meeting, while referring to the actions of the Western media, which try to destroy the image of countries for their interests through propaganda, it was emphasized that aligned countries should move towards convergence and cooperation based on common interests while recognizing the objective realities.

In another part of this meeting, the topic of de-escalation between Iran and Saudi Arabia was discussed with the mediation of China. While welcoming the recent de-escalation, the two sides emphasized that collective cooperation to reduce tensions and increase global stability and security benefits all regional and international actors. In this regard, Iran and China have always been historical partners, and both sides are willing to invest and strengthen communication channels in all fields.
