The third edition of the Iran–China Think Tank Forum will be held on Saturday and Sunday, 13–14 December 2025, at IPIS in Tehran. The forum is organized on the initiative of IPIS and represents the most important framework for elite-level dialogue among research centers, think tanks, and experts from both countries, on the eve of the 55th anniversary of the establishment of official diplomatic relations between Iran and China.
Launched three years ago by the institute for Political and International Studies, the forum has now been institutionalized as a regular fixture in the bilateral relations calendar of Tehran and Beijing.
The upcoming forum will feature a series of specialized panels and workshops with the participation of senior officials, academics, and leading Iranian and Chinese researchers. The main themes include synergy between the global initiatives of the two countries’ presidents, an assessment of geopolitical trends in West Asia, emerging opportunities for economic and technological cooperation, as well as collaboration in the fields of energy, investment, food security, and corridor connectivity.
The inauguration of an exhibition of historical documents on Iran–China relations, along with specialized sessions on transportation, tourism, and cultural dialogues, will also constitute key components of this edition. The third Iran–China Think Tank Forum is regarded as a pivotal platform for the exchange of expert perspectives, the formulation of practical roadmaps, and the enhancement of the strategic partnership between Tehran and Beijing at regional and international levels.
