Khatibzadeh: Consensus is not a temporary compromise, but a sustainable approach.

Mr. Dr. Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran,

Mr. Dr. Araqchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Here, I find it necessary to briefly express my appreciation in Persian for the presence of a great personality who has inspired this new path in the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The presence of Mr. Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, President of our country, in this forum is a source of honor and encouragement for us. We are sincerely grateful for his development-oriented, balanced, and humane perspective on foreign policy.

By explaining the concept of “consensus,” Mr. Dr. Pezeshkian has breathed new life into the country’s political discourse. Consensus is not a temporary compromise, but a sustainable approach to resolving differences, opening avenues for cooperation, and strengthening the foundations of dialogue. This approach is based, above all, on the importance of listening.

Listening to others must be done carefully, with the intention of mutual understanding, and with respect. Building new realities depends on such listening. We have gathered here today to, above all, shape a meaningful dialogue with an open heart and listening ears.

We hope that we can expand the noble concept of consensus beyond national borders in this meeting and turn it into a new foundation for regional relations. Today, more than ever, our region needs consensus, political rationality, and a new narrative of peaceful coexistence.

With such an approach, we can create a different future; a future built on partnership, mutual respect, and common understanding, not on fabricated narratives, exclusion, conflict, and exclusion of the other.

God willing, with the active participation of all of you, dear ones, we will have a forum for maximum dialogue and interaction.

Thank you very much
