Center for Political and International Studies Holds Joint Roundtable with Indias Observer Research Foundation

On January 7 2025 the Center for Political and International Studies (CPIS) hosted a joint roundtable discussion with Indias Observer Research Foundation (ORF). The meeting was attended by ORF Chairman Sunjoy Joshi along with a group of prominent Indian experts and a group of senior experts from the CPIS.

<p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">On January 7, 2025, the Center for Political and International Studies (CPIS) hosted a joint roundtable discussion with India's Observer Research Foundation (ORF). The meeting was attended by ORF Chairman Sunjoy Joshi, along with a group of prominent Indian experts, and a group of senior experts from the CPIS.</p> <p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">Several strategic and key issues were discussed at this event. First, the transitional period in the global order was addressed, and the role of middle powers such as Iran and India in shaping global developments was particularly emphasized. The examination of developments in the West Asia region from Iranian and Indian perspectives was another part of this roundtable, in which the importance of constructive interactions and strategic cooperation to strengthen regional stability and security was emphasized.</p> <p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;">Furthermore, the role of Iran and India in the development of the North-South Transport Corridor and developments in the Caucasus as a turning point in the two countries' economic and geopolitical interactions was examined. Also, in the final section, the redefinition of Iran-India relations was discussed, and new prospects for economic, cultural, and political cooperation were outlined.</p> <p dir="ltr" style="text-align: justify;"> </p>
